Fishing Report

Slow pick continues on our beaches, but on the brighter side the fish that are being caught are nice size keeper bass taking well presented cut bunker and clams. Plenty of room out there to fish with no real large crowds of anglers as of yet. The back bay is still producing small blues on cut bait and metal. We will be carrying live eels as of today’s bait delivery along with fresh bunker, clams and sand worms with a large selection of frozen bait as always….John Yac

Not many fisherman out yesterday but there were a few fish caught. We have plenty of fresh bunker and clams as well as an assortment of frozen baits for your needs.

The back again produced a few cocktail blues that were hitting cut bunker late yesterday afternoon and last night.

Summer weather is finally here thank God after a so so early spring. Striped bass and blue fish are still off our beaches and bait fishing remains the popular method of pursuit. The back bay is still producing blue fish and striped bass on cut bait and sand worms. As always we have plenty of fresh bunker, clams and sand worms. Our frozen bait selection includes sand eels and large squid tubes along with the rest of the staples.

It’s still not to late to have a custom rod made as the turn around time is still not bad.

Don’t want to sound like a broken record but bass are still taking clams and cut bunker from our area beaches and back bay. Still no great bite on artificial lures as of late at least in the ocean that is. The bay on the other hand is normal for this time of the year with swimming plugs and metal along with cut bait and worms accounting for some nice bass and blue fish. Phil “Dirt” one of our shop employees and a local fisherman for years nailed a very respectable 17 lb bass on cut bunker in the bay along with several nice blues in the 7 to 10 lb range Monday AM…John Yac

Kind of slow on the surf yesterday but the fish that were caught was on fresh bait. We have fresh clams and bunker as well as an assortment of frozen baits for your needs.

There was a good bite of bluefish in the back again yesterday. Fish in the 3-5 lb range were caught mostly on cut bunker.

No way to start off a holiday weekend weather wise. Strong westerly winds today will call for a little extra weight for those willing to give the beach a shot. Striped bass are still being taken on clams and bunker and still no great action on artificial baits. As always we have a full line of fresh and frozen baits including some real nice looking sand worms for those looking for a great spring alternative bait for bass and weak fish!

Nice to see a different wind direction for a change. Although rain gear may be required today. There is still some nice bass being taken from our beaches. Fresh clams and fresh bunker is still the way to go, but bunker seems to have a slight edge according to the last few weighed in. The back bay in our area is a little quiet right now.

Our crabbing skiffs will be ready to go Saturday along with our jet ski and pontoon boat rentals. Come on down and kick off the summer season!

Blue fish are still in the mix along with some nice sized blow fish off our local beaches. The back bay is still producing small blues in the 3 to 5 lb range on cut bunker. We have plenty of fresh bunker and fresh clams and remember today is WACKY WEDNESDAY our clams are $3.75 per dozen!.

Striped bass and blue fish in the ocean, with a nice pick of blow fish for those fishing for them. The catches seem to be mostly on bait partly due to the few fisherman throwing artificial lures. The bay right now is mostly blue fish in the 3 to 5 lb range on cut bunker fished right on the bottom. John Yac
