Fishing Report

Tired of reading about all the big bass the boats are getting Manasquan and north? Well I wish I had something different to tell you, but I don’t. The only positive that comes out of this is, the fish are close, they are on big schools of bunker, and all it would take is for the bunker to slide a bit south and a little west and bingo! This may be brought on by the falling temperatures forecasted for the remainder of the week, all we can do is hope. We have fresh clams, fresh bunker, live eels and sand worms, so we’re ready. If SP Minnows, Bombers, X-Raps and Mambo Minnows are your thing we have a nice selection to chose from… John Yac

Fishing Report

Big fish are still to the north of Manasquan on large school of bunker, while we still pick away on shorts with a few keepers mixed in. Most of our bass have been taken on clams in the surf between Seaside Park and IBSP.  Rain fish is the predominate bait in our area right now with some small blues in pursuit… John Yac

Why the bass are still reluctant to move south along our beaches are any bodies guess. I’m sure it has all to do with the schools of bunker north of the Manasquan inlet, once again boats are playing the snag and drop game and taking some nice 20 lb. class fish. Thank God we still have a few small blues around so we don’t go totally fishless, but that is becoming more and more tiring by the day. So for now waiting and hoping is all we can do… John Yac

Sharpen your hooks, things could be about to pop! There were a couple of nice bass taken in IBSP yesterday on clams and one topped the scales at 27 plus pounds, now that’s what I’m talking about. Clams are not the only way to temp these bass to take the hook. Swimming plugs and metal will also work if presented correctly in the right locations and at the right times. So don’t just sit there and read the reports, get out there and catch some fish of your own… John Yac

Nice weekend ahead, with some good weather and winds in the forecast, maybe some fish??? This fall run is sure testing everyone’s patience and mother nature isn’t helping much either, but patience and perseverance will pay off, you’ll see. Nice fresh clams, live eels and sand worms will be ready to go for some possible weekend action… John Yac

Fishing Report

Be patient, they are coming! I know you get tired of hearing,”any day now” but the truth be told they will come, it’s just a matter of when and where. So don’t let your guard down and keep trying. We have our reel service special and 20% off selected rods in stock sale still in progress. So why not take advantage and save a few bucks while you wait for the big boys to arrive… John Yac

Fishing Report

Rain is one thing but lightning is a No No! Rain gear will keep you dry for the most part but nothing protects you from mother nature but common sense. Keep your rods in the buggy and stay off the beaches till all sigs of lightning is gone. There has been cases where anglers sitting in their buggy’s waiting for the storm to pass have been struck by lightning, so why take the chance? No fish no matter how big is worth your life or the life of a loved one or friend! Strong NE winds turning NW tomorrow will have the surf churned up so big sticks, heavy sinkers and clams will be your best bet. Heavy metals and bottle plugs are a great alternative if you don’t want to bait fish…. John Yac

Fishing Report

Not much new on the fishing front to report. Still some small blues here and there but no run of bass to speak of, but that could change any day. It’s a matter of staying vigilant so you will be there when the run starts. The few short to keeper size bass that are being taken are at first light and at dusk. Clams seem to be the number producer but a few have been taken on small swimmers. We have Penn Spinfisher V Live Liners back in stock. Remember we have live eels and sand worms for a change of pace!… John Yac

Fishing Report

Nice stretch of weather forecasted for the next two days. Ocean temps are down a bit and we still have bait in close, small blues are still around with reports of short to keeper size bass increasing daily. A couple of nice bass were taken yesterday trolling MAJA bunker spoons off the IBSP bathing beaches. Mullet and clams, poppers, swimmers and metals are the tools of the trade. Looking for Tony MAJA spoons, rods, outriggers, lines etc.? We have it all and at great prices too! … John Yac

Fishing Report

The clock is ticking! Half of October gone and still no Striped bass to speak of. It’s starting to look like one of those late in the year striped bass runs where you just have enough time to choke down your Thanksgiving day meal before you head back to the beach because the big boys are on the feed! The weather this weekend should give us more favorable winds with a cleaner surf out front. Clams, swimmers and thin metals should be your baits of choice when looking for those elusive striped bass. We must have patience, they’re coming! … John Yac
