Fishing Report

Rods were bent from Lavallette to IBSP yesterday when a body of small  bass moved in to our area. No where near the 28″ mark but nice action never the less. The bulk of the fish seem to taking small ava and deadly dick size metals fished with teasers signaling the possible arrival of sand eels in our area!…. John Yac

Fishing Report

Now that the big meal is behind us and the weather is bearable, we can continue our pursuit of the elusive fall run striped bass. Surf fishing is a slow pick at best due to the lack of fish or lack of participation, but in truth it’s probably a combination of both. It’s not over till it’s over and that is a hard call to make… John Yac

Fishing Report

Fishing remains a slow pick mainly on clams, the more productive areas seems to be in IBSP. Make sure before you venture out today you have your rain gear with you the forecast is for  steady rain all day. Think on the bright side, it could be all snow!… John Yac

Fishing Report

Light NNW winds will make today very fishable, we still have some bait in our area just not a lot of fish in close. Still no word on the sand eel front. I haven’t heard of fish being cleaned that had sand eels in their stomach. So for now clams and cut bunker are your bait choices with swimming plugs and poppers your go to artificial lures … John Yac

Fishing Report

We are hoping like everyone else that fresh bait will arrive some time today. In the mean while salted clams and vacuum packed bunker will have to fill the bill. It’s still a night time surf bit, as far as we know, with Bomber and SP minnow type swimmers taking the few fish being caught. You may want to start throwing a few needle fish style lures to cover the possibility of sand eels being present… John Yac

Fishig Report

Short and sweet or not so sweet at all. What ever bass there is in our area it’s a “in the dark bite” for the surf guys right now. We are hoping this will change soon but without a good showing of sand eels in the wash we don’t have much to hang our hat on…

Fishing Report

The large schools of bunker seem to be thinning out and so are the fisherman. Not many guys on the beach yesterday to get a accurate report on what’s happening in our area. With the warmer temps predicted for the next few days a increase in fishing activity is sure to follow. Still hearing reports of sand eels just off shore and as soon as the water temps drop into the mid to lower 50’s, they should move in with the bass hot on their trail. A happier Thanksgiving no surf angler can wish for… John Yac

Fishing Report

A little better today, wind wise that is, but air temps are keeping most surf guys off the beaches. Schools of bunker remain just out of casting range and the few nice bass that have been caught the past few days were mostly on clams and SP minnow swimming plugs. It’s not over yet, reports of sand eels come in daily from off shore boats and birds are diving on something small. So all we need is a push of those little guys in shore and the season will go on through the holidays, lets all hope!… John Yac

Fishing Report

Long Johns a must today before heading out. The winter chill will be with us for the next couple of days but the bass and blue fish are still biting. Boat guys still have the edge as always, finding the schools of bait then using the tried and true snag and drop method to limit out. Trolling is also producing, with large bunker spoons fished on wire accounting for some quality fish in the box. Remember black fish season is here, with a 6 fish at 15″ per angler. We have green crabs, live eels, and sand worms plus our normal clams, bunker and frozen baits… John Yac
