Fishing Report

Don’t let a little cold weather keep you at home! With plenty of bait out front, keeper bass and now you can add a few slammer blues to the mix, home shouldn’t be an option. Poppers and swimmers with teasers at first light and at dusk with cut baits and clams by day. Remember we have LIVE EELS and LIVE GREEN crabs to add to your bait choices… John Yac

Fishing Report

Some large bunkers in close, but not many fish on them! The bait supply in the surf remains plentiful. The number of keeper bass on them is increasing daily just not as quick as we would like to see, but it will happen real soon! Cut baits and clams always work on these fish especially at night, but poppers by day and swimmers both day and night are also scoring on these fish. The back bay by IBSP has been seeing some large blues taking popping plugs giving anglers a run for their money… John Yac

Fishing Report

One extra layer today! Other than that business as usual. Numbers of keeper bass on the rise especially on the night tides. Daylight hours will bring small bluefish into the mix. Tons of small rain fish along our beaches with large bunker schools off shore. Air temperatures will increase as the week progresses… John Yac

Fishing Report

All types of bait out front in the surf with the number of fish on them slowly increasing. Blues and keeper bass are enjoying the selection of baits now present in the surf. No big numbers with bass but the night time bite is out producing the daytime. These fish are taking both cut natural baits and artificial lures. Swimmers, with a teaser out front and poppers are leading the pack right now on the artificial front. Mullet, cut bunker and clams are always good bets in the bait department… John Yac

Fishing Report

Rain will be moving out later this AM, winds will be cranking up but NW is the forecast so no problem casting along the shore line. Still blues and keeper bass around, so why not pick up a rod or two and give it a try? The back side of IBSP is producing some small bass on plugs and our local bridges at night are still producing small bass. Yesterday Phil from the shop was out on the dock for a couple of hours and managed to put together 13 nice size keeper crabs, nice catch for this time of the year!… John Yac

Fishing Report

Big Bass!! Yes things are starting to happen in our area but as usual the boat guys are the first ones to score. Trolling large bunker spoons and snag and drop is the way to go. The surf guys have been picking smaller bass on bait and lures with blues mixed in. All good signs of things to come. The weekend will see a drop in temperatures with winds gusting, but as of now a NW wind direction is in the forecast, great winds for us fishing the surf… John Yac

Fishing Report

More of the same! Not a bad thing thou, small blues with a increasing number of keeper bass are available to the shore bound angler right now. The boat guys as usual this time of year fishing just north of us are starting to enjoy the beginning of the fall run of bass. Fish in the 20 to 30 lb. class are being taken by snag and drop and trolling methods. Remember we have LIVE EELS and GREEN CRABS… John Yac

Fishing Report

Plenty of bait around just not too many fish. Reports of a few large bass being taken by boat fisherman just north of us using the snag and drop method. Trolling bunker spoons is another way to score this time of year. The surf bite has been slow with still some small blues and a few keeper bass. You know the drill, clams, cut mullet and bunker chunks are your bait choices. We have a large supply of local frozen mullet along with fresh clams and live eels. Casting poppers and swimmers also is a good idea while watching your bait rods… John Yac

Fishing Report

Nice fall feeling morning! Reports of keeper bass continue in the surf joined by small blues. These fish are hitting both bait and lures. On the bait front we have FRESH BUNKER and FRESH LIVE CLAMS, add to that frozen mullet and squid along with salted clams. Fishing Report

More keeper bass each day reported taking clams in the surf. We heard of king fish also being taken on small pieces of clam in the park. Blues are still around and as always cut baits, mullet and bunker should be your first choices. The surf is clean and fishable and the water temperatures are slowing falling which will trigger the fall migration… John Yac
