Fishing Report

Surf conditions are just about back to normal. The brisk winds today will be coming out of the NW, a very favorable direction for fishing our ocean beaches. Yesterday just a little north of us, bait fish were spotted spraying out of the water, always a good sign! The blackfish bite off the jetty and in the canal remains good. With green crabs still the number one bait. Not many people crabbing, but the ones that are still hanging in there are putting together some decent catches…. John Yac

Fishing Report

You can’t catch fish if you don’t at least try! With the unfavorable surf conditions the past week, anglers have been giving up on getting their fall run fishing started. But with improving surf conditions along with cooler air temperatures and some bait starting to move things could heat at any time. The bay is still holding blues and small bass and the crabbing is starting to come back nicely, with some nice large crabs being taken yesterday off our dock. The black fishing, although only 1 fish at 15″ till Nov.16, is good both from the inlet jetty in IBSP and up north in the canal. We have green crabs to assist you in your pursuit of these great tasting fish. With the fall season starting we now have LIVE EELS and will carry them right through the end of the season… John Yac

Fishing Report – (Café Closed for Remodeling)

>>> Our café WILL BE CLOSED TIL TUES. OCT. 3 rd. for kitchen remodeling. We will reopen with a fresh new look with more delicious choices to our outstanding menu! <<<

On the fishing front, still more of the same. Small blues with the occasional short bass out front. Larger blues with larger numbers of short bass being taken on bait and lures alike in the bay. Crabbing seems to getting slightly better than it has been… John Yac

Fishing Report

Just more of the same! Not much fishing activity out front with the bulk of the action, if that’s what you want to call it, remaining in the bay. Blues and small bass are taking lures and bait alike, with a few keeper crabs going to the dyed in the wool crabbers. With cooler nighttime temps forecasted this week this maybe just what we need to jump start the fall fishing a bit… John Yac

Fishing Report

Not much has changed since my last report. I wish the fishing was as good as the weather, but that’s not the case. A few small bass have been reported out front on bait, in IBSP, around the area of the inlet. Small bass are also showing up in increasing numbers in the back bay. We have had several taken right from our dock in the past couple of days. The population of large bluefish is still roaming the bay, and still taking mostly cut baits. Crabbing is showing a swing in the right direction with increasing numbers of keepers being taken. We’re hoping this trend will only get better the further into the fall season we get… John Yac

>>> Remember we are now carrying GREEN CRABS till the end of the season!! <<<

Fishing Report

The rough surf the past few days made the fishing tough, if not impossible. The bay is still holding good size blues and a few short bass in some of the usual spots, along with the good blackfish bite in the canal right now that about sums things up. We are carrying green crabs, fresh salted clams and VP bunker along with fresh bunker, when available… John Yac

Fishing Report

Rough couple days ahead, weather wise that is. The surf remains quiet right now, while the back bay still produces blues from local docks and bulkheads. No mullet schools out front yet. Still a bit early in my opinion, I’m guessing closer to the end of the month… John Yac

FYI >>> The Dock Café will be closed on Mondays for the fall and winter season.

Fishing Report

Yesterday’s outstanding weather brought with it a little better surf bite. Snapper blues to larger size slammer class fish seem to increase in numbers yesterday. The lion’s share of fish are still being taken on cut baits, and in that mix we heard of a few short bass also being taken. No real mullet run to talk of yet in our area, just a few popping up here and there. There are still blues in the bay but crabbing is horrible…. John Yac

Fishing Report

Great weather weekend forecasted! We are hopping the mullet run in our area will finely get started and jump start the surf action. But for now the bay is still producing blues and there is rumors of blow fish in the area of the BB buoy. Crabbing is still slow, but persistence will pay with at least a small catch for the table… John Yac

Fishing Report

Some action out back yesterday again with large bluefish on cut bunker. Meanwhile the surf action remains quit. I’m sure as soon as the mullet run finely gets under way it will spark the surf bite… John Yac
