Just had 3 more bass weighed in… We have had a few anglers come back from Lavalette-Seaside Heights area that have caught bass today on both clams and bunker… All are reporting 6oz to hold bottom…We also have a ton of bunker behind the shop with a couple of blues on them… Hopefully their friends arrive shortly…John

Ok here’s this mornings fishing report. If you own a kayak or a boat there is no excuse your not putting fish in the freezer this last week. Unless you don’t like to catch big bass or are a fair weather fisherman. Again last night the bass blew up roughly a mile out off of the old thunderbird. The guys that paddled out and the boats that were there really put it to em. This wind change that we will have today and tomorrow should help pull these fish inshore a little more. Maybe even the surf guys will get a shot at them. Fluke fishing continues to improve in the manasquan river with some nice keepers being reported. Gulp is the way to go. As a reminder sea bass season opens this Saturday. Scott

Some really nice fish in our area for those anglers willing to put in the time. There’s really no secret to it, just keep the bait fresh, keep your eyes open, and spend some time! Some nice 30lb class bass in our area as shown by yesterday’s kayak action in our local waters. Now all we need is for the fish to drive those bunker schools within casting distance of the beach and us surf bound anglers will be in business. Snag an drop is the way to go, but a rod out with a nice fresh bunker chunk can’t hurt while you wait … John Yac

Looks like the start of a great weekend. We have fresh bunker and clams. Just got a call from one of our beach regulars… the bunker are between Lavallette and Ortley beach and they seem to have fish on them. We weighed in a 32lb bass last night from a boat on bunker south of here. So it looks like all the pieces are coming together for a good up coming week !
